From December 8th to 10th, the official opening of the Open Academy at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice took place. The event was multi-stage, and we had the pleasure of participating on two of those days.
December 9th – “Active Preschooler – Fun Games”
The Open Academy hosted its youngest participants on this day—preschoolers from Katowice. The children took part in movement games and activities prepared by Prof. Dorota Groffik, PhD, Hab. from the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice. One component involved the children participating in workshops from the Ninanki program, led by MSc Martyna Borowska. With live music, she introduced participants to the world of movement patterns using the Ninanki team. The entire room quickly felt how important and fascinating movement education for children is.
December 10th – “Ninanki – Living Well with Movement” – Teacher Training
On the third day, the Open Academy focused on adult education, specifically for preschool and early childhood education teachers. During the training titled “Ninanki – Living Well with Movement,” Prof. Krzysztof Ficek, PhD, Hab. presented this innovative educational composition. Professor Ficek delivered an extremely interesting lecture that revealed the scientific foundations and benefits of this approach to movement education.
The second part of the training consisted of “Ninanki in Practice” workshops. Teachers had the opportunity to experience the program firsthand. The methodology for introducing the project and key aspects of combining movement with music, along with visual and ecological associations, were explained and demonstrated by MSc Martyna Borowska. The world of movement was presented by physiotherapy students Maja Śliwa and Zuzanna Kielma, who precisely practiced movement patterns together with the participants.
This exceptional event highlighted how crucial it is to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application to inspire teachers and support the development of the youngest.
